Gaudete Sunday, the Third Week of Advent

December 17, 2018

Gaudete Sunday is the third week of advent. The name Gaudete is a Latin word meaning rejoice. In our school tradition, we hold a morning Advent prayer service each week as we prepare for the coming of the baby, Jesus. We listen to the words of Sr. Eileen to better understand the meaning of Advent and the peaceful preparation for Christmas. Today, we lit the third candle, a pink rose candle, as we rejoice this week of Gaudete Sunday. The King is coming. Peace.

Celebrating Gaudete Sunday, we light the pink rose candle.

In our Christmas tradition, we gather to light the third candle of our Advent wreath.
